Betty Shabazz x Pink Tee

$55.00

Design Apprentice Keily Adams chose to honor Dr. Betty Shabazz. Shabazz (1934-1997) is widely known as being the wife and widow of Malcolm X. She was an educator, a nurse, and an advocate for civil rights. She was a founding member of the Republic of New Afrika and later became the 2nd Vice President in 1968. She continued her education and became a dedicated advocate for social justice, focusing on community development, education, and racial and gender equality. She completed her bachelor’s degree in education, earned a master’s degree in public administration, and later obtained a doctorate in education.

The only way to truly honor our ancestors is to continue their fight for justice and equality.”
