Design Apprentice August chose to honor Bayard Rustin, American civil rights activist. Rustin was an advocate against racial discrimination and for gay rights, as well as a close advisor and mentor to Dr. King. Rustin studied and organized for the advancement of civil rights all over the world.
Proceeds from sales of TBS merch supports our programming, including our paid design apprenticeship and our New Orleans x Brooklyn Exchange Program for creative youth.
