Building community through transformative art education.

TBS: Magazine Issue #1

About
The first issue of The Black School magazine was completed in collaboration with St. Hope Leadership Academy and Sugar Hill Children’s Museum for Art and Storytelling. The magazine features student artwork and design guided by inspiration and community research on Black Love. These works were created with the support of visiting artists who are experts in these fields, including fashion (Eric McNeal), poetry (Latasha N. Nevada Diggs), and photography (Tiffany Smith). Each project explored the students’ thoughts about Black love and reflected the responses students compiled on the subject from interviews with their families and community members.
